Bicol is a must if you’re keen to try Korean barbecue-style cuisine. This classic address in the Liberdade district of the city has been run by a South Korean family for three generations. In this spacious restaurant, the tables have their own grills so that guests can cook meat (usually cut super-fine) to their individual taste. Dishes for sharing are the mainstay here, including the Burgogui, Garbi and Samguiopsar combos, always accompanied by Banchan (small side dishes of the day). The Bibimbap (a typical rice dish) and the soups are other interesting options on the menu, not forgetting the delicious kimchi, of course. Why not pair your food with the traditional soju, a typical Korean beverage with differing strengths of alcohol?
