If you want pasta for lunch, you’ll have to plan accordingly. Chef Leandro Baldassarre started out as an underground pasta maven and quickly matured into a bona fide, city-wide wholesaler and retailer. He opens his doors for lunch for just a few hours each day, and on an industrial strip of Dovercourt Village, diners line the sidewalk waiting to get in. Be advised: Tables are in scarce supply, as most of the space is an industrial kitchen busy filling orders for other restaurants and grocers. The menu is even more limited, confined to two or so pastas that change daily, plus prosciutto and mozzarella. The likes of cavatelli with asparagus, ravioli with ricotta and spinach, and tagliolini with wild chanterelles are honest and satisfying.
